A clinician and a scholar, Dr. Mancini has published more than 120 peer-reviewed articles, abstracts, books and book chapters on pediatric dermatology, and is also a peer reviewer himself who sits on the editorial boards of several academic journals, including Pediatric Dermatology and Pediatrics. He co-authored Hurwitz Clinical Pediatric Dermatology, 3rd edition and was co-editor of the AAP publication Pediatric Dermatology – A Quick Reference Guide, and section editor of Dermatology and Dermatology, 2nd edition. Dr. Mancini has published and presented research on certain severe skin manifestations of lupus.
Listed repeatedly in the volumes of “Best Doctors in America” and in the “Guide to America’s Top Dermatologists,” Dr. Mancini is not only esteemed by his patients but also has distinguished himself as a mentor and teacher, repeatedly being recognized with Northwestern’s “Faculty Excellence in Education Award.”
Dr. Mancini has spoken at dozens of educational seminars and meetings, and served as a co-investigator in numerous clinical trials of agents to ameliorate skin problems in children
Dr. Mancini received his undergraduate and medical educations at the University of Arizona, and trained in pediatrics, pediatric dermatology and dermatology at Stanford University. He is serving his second 5-year term as Secretary-Treasurer of the Society for Pediatric Dermatology.
