EULAR: Disease Activity Predicts Damage in Lupus
Wednesday, August 24, 2011
LONDON -- Patients with systemic lupus erythematosus who have persistent disease activity are at risk for organ damage and mortality, researchers reported here.
After adjustment for potential confounders, each one-point increase on the British Isles Lupus Assessment Group (BILAG) score was associated with an 8% increase in risk of any new organ damage during follow-up, according to David A. Isenberg, MD, of University College London, and colleagues.
